Gene Goldman

My name is Gene Goldman and I teach year 6. After completing my studies in Toronto, Canada at York University, I have spent the last two years teaching a variety of year groups in the UK. I spent the first year in the North of England, and the following year in London leading to a position at an excellent school in East London. Now, I am thrilled to be discovering Wroclaw and engaging with a group of inquisitive young people.

Aside from teaching, my training and passion lie in English literature. I read as much as life allows and write when the mood strikes. I have been reading a variety of books from UK authors on the recommendations of British friends, but my favourite book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck. It requires a significant time commitment, but it’s worth it! My teaching degree is focused on years 4 to 10, and I have been working with children in this age group in schools, camps, and education programs for a significant part of my life.

I have thoroughly enjoyed travelling and living abroad. Working with the children of different backgrounds and being exposed to varied perspectives has been enlightening. I’m sure the coming year will be fulfilling for everyone.
